For a little over two weeks I have been having a sore throat on my left side and my left ear has been hurting. My ear has been really hurting the last couple of days!!!I looked at my throat and its really red on my left side. My left side of my neck is very tender too. Thats it, those are my only symptoms. But according to the Minute Clinic Nurse, I have a cold.My ears and throat look "just fine". According to my papers she gave me my cold is viral and I cant do anything about it.Oh ya, and according to my papers my symptoms of this cold are runny nose, coughing, sneezing, fever and watery eyes.I have NONE of those.Stupid Minute Clinic!!!! I asked her why my ear hurts and she says its because of the swollen glands in my throat.

I would have went to my regular clinic, but its impossible to even talk to a nurse because of the stupid H1N1 scare. My clinic is crazy right now. This sucks!!! My ear is killing me, and im not usually a big baby when it comes to pain!

So I went to the minute clinic. She said I have an upper respiratory infection...or common cold.Even though I have none of the symptoms of a cold..or the symptoms that are listed on my papers she gave me (runny nose, coughing, sneezing, temp, watery eyes)She says my ears and throat look fine.My glands, however are extremely swollen. STUPID MINUTE CLINIC! My ear is killing me, and I usually dont make a big deal about pain, but it hurts!! I asked her why my ear would be hurting, and she said all of my muscels are connected, and the muscles in my neck are making my ear hurt...just on the one side of course.

I would have went to my regular clinic, but its impossible to even talk to a nurse because of the stupid H1N1 scare. My clinic is crazy right now. This sucks!!!

Godh, I hear ya...I hate any kind of head related or ear thing. I have taken warmed up olive oil w/garlic and dripped it inside my ear and let it sit there for a little while. That helps. I swear by ear candles...but I think they just get rid of the build up from having a cold, not so much help the pain.

It kinda sounds like what I had back in the summer. They said it was just a bacterial infection. But it hurt my left side of my throat, my gums ended up swelling because of it, it was not fun at all.

Most likely it is from post nasal drip that is messing with your throat. tea, lemon and honey is good for that. Also, if you can stand to gargle salt water...works wonders :)
