We got our wedding pictures back on Thanksgiving morning. In order to be sure to have prints by Christmas we have to order ASAP. We have a $500 photo credit from our wedding package. I called and emailed our parents, siblings, etc with the link to the gallery and their alloted amount of our photo credit. Our siblings have been good, they've only selected up to their photo credit. Our parents on the other hand.... My dad/stepmom have selected $200 in photos, my stepdad alone has selected almost $200. Granted my stepdad did pay for the bulk of the wedding so we gave him a larger chunk ($150).
At this rate DH and I won't get ANY professionally printed pictures. We will get a cd with all of the images/copyright etc of all of the pictures with the printed pictures so we can print at Walgreens or whatever. But still...I'd like a nice 8x10 or two. I don't want to be rude or unfair. My stepdad deserves the most pictures and I don't want to offend him by cutting his pictures when he did pay for the bulk of the wedding. My dad didn't help with the wedding and barely wanted to walk me down the aisle but I know if I cut only his pictures and he finds out (which always happens. never fails) then there's WWIII brewing.
What would you do?
Edit: Dh's parents haven't gotten back to us yet so we have no idea where they will be budget wise either.
I would explain the situation to everyone and then give a set amount of pics for the parents with more going to your stepdad, since he paid for it. It was your wedding, you do need some photos of it. Why do the parents need so much? I would think on 8x10 would be nice for the parents.
I thought I had explained everything, over the phone and written in an email, with their set amount and all that. Ugh. Now I feel bitchy for telling them that they didn't follow the guidelines that I set. I know I shouldn't but I do.
I have no idea why people need SO many pictures. I know my stepdad will probably give some to his family and he likes to have picture of family all over his house (we live across the country). No idea what my dad and stepmom are going to do with the pictures.
Hindsight is 20/20 LOL I never thought this would happen. Sigh.
Quoting heavenlyangl420:i wouldnt have let them pick there pics. i would have given them a couple or gave them a disk and let them print them out what they wanted except your stepdad
