and i am absolutely terrified! i have all the resources to do it (my inheritance from grandpa will pay for all school expenses, food and rent) my df would stay home w/ the kids. it's all lined up. but i just need a bit of a push... i'm scared i'm not smart enough to do it. or that my df won't be able to take care of the kids like i do. there is a community college in my town that has a 2 year aas degree program for nursing that at the end of will allow me to take the rn exams. and there are LOTS of nursing jobs here (retirement community) please help! i've just messed up my life, like i'm 19, have 2 kids, i didnt graduate (i'm taking the ged test) i just feel like i've gotten so behind thats its hard to start doing something different. and my df is VERY supportive.

Congrats on deciding what you want to do. That is wonderful that your df is supportive. I am in school for nursing. It is a great field to go into. My aunts are RN's.

I am thinking of doing the same thing.  We got the Sunday paper yesterday and there was a FULL PAGE of nothing but nursing jobs.  My husband graduates with his IT degree in March so while we're in SC for Christmas I'm going to look into what I need to do to start.

and noone in my family has ever gone to college and gotten a degree and a job. lol some went and married the guys who were going to have a good job, and others just got a job strait out of high school. so i don't really have any role models. neither of my parents even have real jobs!

If you want to have a good push, then take a look at your kids, and show them that you are a good role model and have set a goal and accomplished it. Be a good example for them. In order to succeed, you need to take a risk, try, and work hard. In the end you will find yourself doing something that you (hopefully) enjoy as a career.

Continuing education is always a good choice. It will get you far in life.

My daughter is almost four years old & I love her more than anything and anyone on this earth!

Have a little faith in yourself.  Trust me.  You don't want to end up in a job that you hate for the rest of your life.  Do it while you have the chance.  A lot of people would give anything to be able to go back to school in order to make a better life for their family.

You already have the motivation to get up and do something. Good for you. Dont let that go, it will take you very far. You can do anything you set your mind to , nothing is unreachable or unachievable. If this is truly what you want to do than you know what you have to do. GOod luck in school.
