my son has been asking this for over 2 weeksnow, he REALLY wants a pet, a fish; so im wondering what kind to get him. Something that is easy to maintain, and that is very cheap. I heard i can get him a beta fish with a bamboo plant and it'll eat the roots, idk, any suggestions? thanks

I have 2 betas (in seperate bowls!) and yes, they are easy to care for, however they don't each the roots of the bamboo, they need to be fed beta pellets.  Do a google search or look at wikipedia, we've had ours for a little over a year now and my son loves them.

Look for an Aquarium & exotic fish store. Generally, the employees are friendly and  will give you good information on the fish type to fit your desires.

Don't know much about them.

Just that the guys in my horticulture class in HS wanted to constantly fight them when we had to do vases with them. ]

But here's a bump.

I want to get clown fish; saw this tiny cute one at a pet store around here. I want a Nemo lol.
