because you want them to behave for a picture..lol im sorry but ive seen some pretty crazy shit..parents threatening to "beat their kids ass" if they dont stop crying and smile for the family picture..or threatening to ground them, take their toys away, actually whipping them for crying, telling them they wont get dinner..the list goes on..im sorry but maybe its just me..I think its pretty overboard to whip or threaten your child over smiling for a picture..arent pictures supposed to be of real moments...I dont know..but I still cant believe some of the things people will say and do in front of others

Both wrong and stupid in my opinion.  Threatening a child is designed to scare them, when kids are scared they tend to cry.  Doesn't seem like it would be very effective.

Makes you sad to think of what they do at home, if they do all this in front of others, doesn't it? People are disgusting for the most part.

I dont see anything wrong with it, I just told my son I would slice his freaking throat while he slept if he didn't get me a glass of soda.

(joking)

No Idont threaten my kid with harm, ever.

my son decided to mad dog the photographer during his christmas pictures and i can't really see how threatening or punishing him would have helped.  he finally did smile, but only after a lot of silly faces and voices from me, his dad, and another studio employee.

I agree its like when people are hitting (spanking) their kids while screaming "its not nice to hit" or biting their one year old because biting hurts

lol that sounds like an average day at my house. However I would not be saying that to them over a picture lol. I am a firm believer of taking pictures of crying kids. Black mail for when they are older.
