I was in an accident this morning, thank G-d my kids werent with me, but their carseats were. Do I need to get new ones now, even if they were empty??
i would say to have them inspected.....
i was in an accident with DS's car seat (empty thankfully)... i took it to the fire department, and they checked it out, and they said taht as long as it was still conecting properly, and staying put the way it should that it would be fine.... but everyone is different... and so are different fire departments.... best thing to do, is check...
take them to you local police station and have them looked at first before you spend a lot of money
Time for new ones. Any fender bender and they are garbage. Some ins. co will pay for those too.

Was your car really totalled?
Being 'totalled' just means that the car is worth less than the cost it would take to fix it.
I recently sold a vehicle that they declared 'totalled' because it needed a new front end, but the engine was fine, the rest of the car was fine, it was mostly cosmetic.
That said, if you are unsure, I sayit's better to be safe than to be sorry. If you think there is any way in which the car seats might have been affected, I think it's better to get new ones, personally. especially if you can do it without breaking the bank.
