I got pg with my youngest, at 39. Nothing was hugely different with the pregnancy.  I was probably a little more tired, b/c I was working the midnight shift, and on my feet for the entire 8 hours, most nights.  I hadn't worked since my first pregnancy..and it was an easier job then.  Get lots of rest.

I know if she's stressed about getting pregnant, that won't help. Following her cycle anf eating healthy and resting can't hurt, but what about those ovulation predicter tests?

I thought about that because she is perfectly healthy and in great shape and so is her man... but
she does get really upset when she takes a pt and it comes negative

Talk to her OB if it takes more than 6 cycles to get pg, and possibly even get a referral for a fertility specialist to help. And best to also have her husband get a sperm analysis done to check for sperm count and motility.

Besides that tell her to be having sex for the 12-18 days before her period is to start (if she is regular) to time intercourse close to ovulation. She should look for signs of ovulation like a change in discharge consistency. It should be clear, "slick" and the consistency of egg whites.

Taking Chargo of your Fertility by Toni Weschler is a great book to understand your cycle and getting pregnant.

Are her cycles regular?

I was 36 when I had my last baby.  At her age if she has been trying for 6 months with no luck she should go to a fertility specialist.  Good luck to her!

I am 36 and finally got pregnant after trying for a few years.  My advice would be, if this is something she really wants, she needs to make a move sooner than later.  I know it sux for women but the more time that passes, the less chance she has.  I went thru several different infertility procedures, tests and medications so if you have any questions please feel free to ask me :)

I was 35 with my oldest and 36 with my youngest...tell her to start taking prenatel vitamins now and really keep track of her cycle...please wish her luck for me!
