I have a couple baking questions...

So when a recipe says to "cream together shortening and sugar" does that just mean mix it, stir it, or something different.

Also I have a recipe for unbaked chocolate cookies that calls for Baker's chocolate but it does not say unsweetened or semisweet or anything would unsweetened be ok to use? Thanks!! I've recently started baking more because I love it it sort of relaxes me but some of the terms are still new to me. Thanks for the help.

Yeah just stir it together until it becomes a cream mixture. If you have a stand mixer, IMO, it's easier to do.

Mix them together and they will turn into a creamy (frosting consistency) mixture.
