Serious question!!....doing some research on this.***EDITED WITH REASON***

I have a few questions I need to ask for some research I am doing. Please no bashing, I will stop the post if bashing starts, Thanks ladies.

1st question...

Does your child have frequent ear infections and/or fluid on the ear?

2nd question...

Does you child have tubes in his/her ear?

3rd question...

Do you or anyone your home smoke? Whether you smoke outside away from you child or inside the home.

Thanks again ladies.

The reason I am researching this is because...My son is 2 and a half. He had tubes put in at 10 months because of frequent ear infections and fluid. He went to see a allergy specialist today and he informed us that cigarette smoke WAS NOT the direct reason for out sons allergies that if it was he would be sick with allergies ALL the time that it could possibly be cat dander(we have a kitten) dust or even food causing his problems. Well we had to make a trip to my sons ENT...and she decided to be a total witch and said we are at fault for all his ear infections, fluid on his ears and that it was all our fault he had tubes. And even tho we smoke OUTSIDE the home that it was our smoke that done all this and that she suggested we do something about our bad habit and take care of our son better. I was soooooo pissed..but I kept my cool somewhat, and I left. I want her to show me direct proof that cigarette smoke is the DIRECT cause of ear problems!!!! Thank you all for your replies, this helps in what I am looking into.

No to all three.  But my sister needed tubes and no one smoked around her, either.  Oh, and if it matters - my son had two ear infections as a baby.  My daughter hasn't had any.  She's 2, he's 3.  She was bf, he was mixed feeding until three months old and ff after that.  NEVER left him to lie with a bottle, always held him to feed him.  His first ear infection was at 2 months, his second was at 5 months old.  HTH!

1st question...

Does your child have frequent ear infections and/or fluid on the ear?  1, 2, & 3 no.. 4 did, subclinical continual ear infections until 15 mths when correct allergy treatment was began.  Language delayed due to the continual ear infections/fluid.

2nd question...

Does you child have tubes in his/her ear? no for all

3rd question...

Do you or anyone your home smoke? Whether you smoke outside away from you child or inside the home. no for all

only difference was first three were formula fed and number 4 was breastfed.

I am always amazed at how the Bible, that portrays my Lord embracing the outcasts, touching the lepers, welcoming the Samaritans, not judging the woman taken in the act of adultery, and inviting 'all of ye,' not 'some of ye,' to 'come unto me,' can, in the hands of a few distorted people be turned into a book of hatred, violence and judgment."  J.S.
