Question about expired Sloppy Joe sauce

Can I use canned Sloppy Joe stuff after its expiration date? Like by a year?

I was gonna make it for lunch/dinner, but grabbed it and saw the date. I didn't think I had ANYTHING in the pantry that old! LOL

Im not sure I would do that... what about some good old cheeseburgers or sheppards pie with the meat

my husband and I have a restaurant and part of the state license requirements in CT is a 9 hr. class re: food safety and sanitization, dont do it. There is bacteria among other things that can grow in even nonparishables.

Just throw it out, I wouldn't take chances over a $2 or $3 can of food.

I wouldn't. You got any barb sauce and tomato sauce? I make my own sometimes with that and by adding onions and peppers and whatever else I can think up. I don't have a recipe cause I don't use one. I just add stuff till it tastes good.

I don't use anything past expiration.
