Women who have been abused, are being abused, and are in the process of NOT letting that happen anymore.

I myself am one who let my boyfriend hit on me, until something snapped one day.

Why do we do this ladies?

NOTE TO READERS: THIS IS NOT A BASHING POST!!! If you want to BASH or JUDGE go elsewhere.

For all you others, I was just thinking about things I do and don't regret, which aren't much, and well, I was curious as to other women's reasons for staying.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant physical abuse.

Depends on what type of abuse you mean.  Physical abuse, no.  Emotional abuse, yes.

I have had two men physically abuse me, I did not stand for it either time. Unfortunately, I stayed too long with quite a few boyfriends who mentally and emotionally abused me.

Never a boyfriend and definatly not my husband but by my dad.  Maybe that's why I wouldn't put up with it, I saw my mom go thru and said I never would.  She finally got out but it took alot for her to get the courage too.

I've been abused in the past. Physically, emotionally, verbally, you name it. I work in an abuse shelter now. I'm still being abused though and just don't know why I let it happen to me.

I grew up in an abusive home. My mom dated a man for 7 years who hit her and also us kids, she went on to have other relationships with men who hit just her. I've never been in an abusive relationship and I would never let myself.

My boyfriend grabbed my arm once when we were 18, I was pregnant and VERY hormonal... poor guy, I basically told him that if he EVER laid a hand on me like that again, I would CUT his dick off.

For those of you being abused, GET HELP! Leave, you don't deserve it and neithe do your kids. It hurts A LOT to see your mother get punched, shoved into walls and down stairs. It's not fun, it's not something that passes, those images and stomach aches stay with you.

Not abused by a DH or BF  but was sexually molested by my 2 brothers as a child.
