is this child abuse?

 so my dd has been getting into everything today everytime i turn my back she is into something i cant take it anymore so i put her in her room and even though she can open doors for some reason she cant open her room door from the inside. she screamed she cried she banged on the door for 3 minutes she is 3 years old by the way is this child abuse?

No I don't see it as being abuse.  you only left her in there for 3 minutes

I think sometimes for the safety/sanity of mom and child, putting them in a toddler proofed room for a few minutes is ok.

If you left there in there for 3 hours..maybe. 3 minutes..not so much

Have you tried using Time outs when she gets into something she isn't supposed to?  Has she been given adequate attention in a positive manner?  Could she be getting into things to get your attention for some reason?  I would either think she needs attention or she needs some structured discipline like a time out.  Good luck :)

No way. If that is child abuse, then I'm guilty of it.

When DS throws a major attitude or tantrum (not often) he gets a cool down period in his room. He can open the door and so sometimes I will just stand there and hold the door so he cant get out until he calms down.

 I don't think its abuse to put them in their room for a few minutes while mom takes a quick break from the insanity.
