And when I say "child"...I mean younger than a teenager (under 13).

No, but I remember being suicidal at 4 years old.  My mom always told me to not put things on my head because I could suffocate.  I remember distinctly at 4 years old laying with my head covered underneath a blanket hoping that I would die.

It makes me so sad to remember that I was even thinking about stuff like that at that age.

When my DD was with her then dad. She was REALLY bad off. Bad situation don't want to talk about it, but I was able to save her.

Actually yes. My DD had actually tried to hang herself like she saw on an old western movie. However she didn't fully understand the whole concept of it all, nor the fact that doing something like that is permanent. She also **had** a bad habit of saying things like "fine I wanna kill myself" when she didn't get her way. That however was  a learned behavior from my sister, who too used that as a way to get her way.
