here is the run down:

Complained of headache over weekend (last) and last mon tues wed (gets headaches so not that unusual)

Wed:  daycare said she felt warm and was off... got her checked that nigh because seeing a preemie cousin the next day didn't want to give him anything if she was contagious- no strep

Wed night: slight fever

Thursday:high fever 103+

Friday high fever

Can't sleep can't get comfortable (hour at a time if that)

Sat took to urgent care- did chest x-ray, blood work, urine culture (smelled bad-due to dehydration) Blood work showed double white blood cells----told to follow up with our urgent care Sunday

Sun-redid strep- still negative

She still has high fever- now pink eye-  lot of congestion hard time breathing(only one side-same as side that pink eye is on)

Called back today- gave us script for pink eye over the phone)  saying still viral and to wait it out.  This little girl is sleeping almost all day- can't really walk saying to tired-  she is miserable and there is nothing i can do to help her.  please any advice would be appreciated.

I almost want to call the ENT to have him look at her...  (extremly large tonsils- touching) appt with him on Feb 2nd, might be taking them out.  She will do fluids but will not eat.  Please help.

Does this sound normal?  Her fever was 103.9 last night... Said see he tomorrow if still no improvement.

ok calm down mama..

my son (3yrs old) had a viral infection a few months back.. it started with a little bump on his lip that he complained about.. the next day 103 fever.. i took him to the doc, ran all types of test (including strep) everything came back negative.. by this time the bump in his mouth turned into a sore and it was really really bad.. there were 4 or 5 all together in his mouth the biggest and worst was on the inside of his bottom lip... the fever continued.. night 3 of the fever i took him back to the doc.. they checked everything all over again.. prescribed a medicide for the sores in his mouth.. still with fever.. he slept all day.. he wouldnt eat ANYTHING.. and i had to beg and pray for him to drink... i would say this lasted about 5 or 6 days.. and then it started to get better (meaning the fever was slowly decreasing) they told me it was a viral infection and had nothing to prescribe.. i'm sorry mama, viral infections are the worse.. i wish her a fast and healthy recovery <3

Viral infections are the worst. There is really nothing you CAN do and I know you feel SO helpless! It sounds like you are doing all you can do.. Make her as comfortable as you can and push fluids so she doesn't get dehydrated. I think seeing the ENT dr. is a great idea.. maybe she has tonsillitis. My daughter has a 103+ fever for almost four days STRAIGHT, dr's couldn't do anything and neither could I. :( I hope she starts feeling better soon and I hope all turns out to be ok. GOOD LUCK! **HUGS**

This sounds exactly like what me son had last week (minus the pink eye he had that last month). I just gave him Motrin and popcicles and waited it out he started getting better on day 6 and by day 9 he was back to himself. Good luck!
