Hi ladies. I am hoping to make my daughter's first bday cake in a few weeks. Does anyone have any recipes for cake frosting? I want to do a 2 tier cake, so I also need to know how much frosting to make. I am planning on like a 11 or 12' bottom cake and 8 or 9' top cake. Also what if anything do i need to support the top layer? Do I just use little dowels? I want to also pipe some decorations, so do I need a different kind of frosting, or with the regular frosting work? Thanks so much in advance. I am doing the garden fairy theme from birthday express, so I want it to be cute and original.

Go to YouTube.  There are so many instructional videos for stacking and icing cakes.  You can also check out the cake101 group here on cm.  Lots of info available there from professional cakers.  Good luck!
