I pay $135.00 a week for my 4 yr old DD to go to a preschool type daycare center.  I have no idea what a nanny would cost.

I take my kids to a friend that is licensed by the state. She charges 22.50 for a full day and 11.25 for a half day. For full time kids it's 135.00 a week I believe.  My daughter goes to preschool  two days a week for half days and if she stays the rest of the day it's 15.00 per half day.

I would want $200  a week. Honestly the way I see it is you need to make it worth your while. A daycare centre can charge less because they have lots of kids. but...there is obviouslt a reason she isn;t going to a daycare. This is one on one babysitting...thats worth a little more especially sine you are giving up your time to do it.

I pay $130/week for FT care in the Chicago suburbs. My DCP is licensed, follows a curriculum, provides all meals, and field trips.

You really have to charge based on what you are going to provide. Will you provide meals and snacks, or will you ask the parent to? Will you have a daily schedule of activities, or will you just take it a day at a time. IMO that all plays a factor into what one should pay for childcare. PLUS I would look at what other DCPs charge in your area. Get online or look in your local paper.
