I had to make a northern post now seeing how there is a southern one going lol. So whats wrong with the north and the Yankees? Wisconsin WHOOP! I get the best of both worlds dh's family is from Mississippi.
Oh I should ask what do you think about the north marrying the south? :)
Nothing. I think us Northerners are more accepting of others, have harsher punishments for animal abusers, and have much more entertaining things to do. :)

I am from Louisiana and I lived in Cincinnati a while back and they WERE NOT very accepting there. They made fun of my accent and were ass-holes in general. I am also gonna have to disagree about fun things to do...I am just as entertained living in LA than in Ohio....
I'm a Northerner, and DH says I'm a "fast-talker", lol.
After a recent trip to to the South, I do have to say that Southerners are much more polite & have better manners. Even at a fast food, I got a greeting, a Maam, and a thank you, all of which hasn't happened to me here in the North for YEARS! :)
I mean accepting of different races, cultures, sexual orientation, etc.
I was joking about the entertainment. LOL.

I'm from Georgia... however, I've traveled all over the country and the world. I've lived in the north.
I was treated like a leper because I'm a southerner. I was told that I was uneducated because I am from the south and that I was slow.. my response " Oh, what's your IQ?" and revealed mine.. Mine was much higher, so I had to laugh at that one. It got to where I didn't want to go anywhere while we lived there. It was ridiculous.
We lived in ND for 4 awful years. I was not meant for 120 inches of snow a year and -80 degrees. Our first year there we had 13 blizzards...needless to say, I was ready to leave after the first year, but the AF was not going to allow us to leave at that point.
I've experienced better attitudes and manners in other countries than in the northern US.
That is just my experience though...

i dont like being cold it irritates me lol. as for Yankees..well they are too loud and talk to fast. i had friends move to GA from NY and i couldn't handle being at their houses when their parents were home...all of them talked at once VERY loudly and very fast and to much hand movements..it was like trying to walk threw an obstacle course when they were getting into a topic lol. while my husband is a raised Georgian his family is actually from Oneida New York and Maryland...i have yet to meat them and am honestly a bit weary of the fact that we will be moving up to VA soon..this means we will prob have to go visit and i dont know if my nerves can take being around a huge family during the holidays like that lol ill prob have to take up smoking just to have an excuse to go outside and breath every once in a while :P

That's the same as if a Yankee goes down south. You get ridiculed for being from the north over and over again.
