I am really sad because I had to put my son in child care after being wtih him all the time for the first year of his life. I need some words of encouragement.
As long as you pick a daycare you trust, then you should have no worries. I run a licensed daycare from my home and have such a blast with these little guys. I have one little girl who has been with me since she was 9 months old. She's now 3 1/2 and I love her like my own dd! Just remember that he may cry when you leave but he will probably stop the second you walk out the door.
My daughter was 13 months old when we had to put her in daycare (Aug 09), because I was returning to work. It was very sad for me too. She's been there almost 6 months now and LOVES it. She says the other little ones names all evening and talks about her daycare provider too. So, I know she is comfortable and has fun there. I felt so guilty in the beginning, but now that I see how happy she is, I know that I am giving her the best of both worlds - Mommy bringing in an income too so we can provide her with what she needs and she being able to go have fun and interact with other children her age. Hang in there, Mom - you will feel better about this with time.
As long as you feel comfortable with the day care. I send my daughter to montessori school day care for a couple hours a week just for her to get some kid time and the moment I waked in I loved it!! It was hard leaving her bc I missed her even though it was only an hour lol but she had so much fun, so just remember you are the one who is scared not ur son so dont worry lol your son is probably having a blast.
Just investigate...call references...and drop in unannounced. Check their lesson plans, meal plans etc.
Your son will probably enjoy it. My DD has made so many new friends and learned so many new things since starting daycare 2 years ago. She's happy as can be. I am sure he will be too. :) :)
