my favorite website is www.etsy.com.  You can find all sorts of handmade stuff...including dress-up things.  Plus you can usually request special order type things once you find a "seller" you like.  I've never been happy with what I find in stores.

Lol, my 3 year old went through that stage (still is kinda in it, actually). I went to Etsy and found her the cutest dress up clothes. Also, Gymboree occasionally has some princess dresses and stuff (dress up clothing like that) in the clearance racks that you can get really good deals on :)

I get email from One Step Ahead all the time.  They have dress up clothes and costumes.  But they are out of my price range.

yea, me either. That store bought stuff is expensive but made really cheap. My dd had a pretty princess dress that cost 20$ and she got home and was wearing it and it tore.

When I was a little girl my Aunt took me to goodwill and got me some real formal dresses (prom dresses and whatnot) then she hemmed them for me.  I loved those things, I even had a wedding dress.  I'm sure you could probably find hats too.  They were juniors and misses sizes so they were obviously too big for me, but they worked well for dress up clothes to fit over my regular clothes.

I know this doesn't help now but I go after Halloween every year and buy a bunch.  Etsy does have a lot of cute ones also.

you could try going to a thrift shop and buy some clothes and jewelry..a lot of shops have some gaudy jewelry that elderly woman have used and they work fine for kids and you dont have to spend a lot of money
