super bored! stuck at work,,, ask me anything! edited with my politics
yup.... ask ANYTHING... can be tmi... i have to be here until 7:30..... parent teacher conferences but i tutor and so i have very little to do.... also snow storm = low parent attendance.
okay i guess i have to give you more than that to make it interesting.... i dont blame you all
- milk drinking (but it is organic!)
- spanking when necessary / cio when necessary
- cosleeping
- still shower with my 4 yr old boy when he wants and he knows the difference between men and women physically and knows he isnt allowed to grab mommy's boobs.
- love my child more than anything in the world including dh... lol
- politically independent... i want to legalize and tax and regulate EVERYTHING...
- i hate george bush still....
- i love lost! the office... and my new favorite show is Modern family
- i allow my son to watch most tv shows including spongebob, chowder, batman, spiderman... i dont believe in sheltering them. just teaching them to deal with things. if he doesnt get exposed to some of the bad ideas in the world. we cant talk about them and i cant set him straight.
- i used to be vax-ing on schedule now i delay everything
- i have 2 sons. one 4 yr old and one baby in heaven as of last may... he was 23 days old, kidney condition, genetic, i am not having more because all my kids have a 1 in 4 chance of having the same thing...
so go ahead and pick me apart ... bash whatever please! i am bored! humor me.
If someone was going to give you a tanning bed, but you don't tan, would you take it anyway and then charge your friends $4-5 bucks a tan?
Are you working in an elementary or high school?
ha ha ha... sure! i dont know that i would charge them but i certainly would take it and maybe use it in the winter. i live in ohio so we dont see the sun too often in the winter. thanks for talking to me!
i am a title one reading teacher. i work with kids K-3 who are at least half a year behind in reading. so i dont have a classroom / homeroom of students. but i teach 5 reading classes a day.... i do love it most days... that arent days i have to work so late.... :)
Is there a dress code for the teachers, at the school you're employed?
Do you have the same credentials as the other teachers at the school?
we are a charter school so the kids have to wear a uniform (white or blue shirt with a collar, and navy pants/shirt/shorts) so yeah they tell us we are supposed to dress better than a school where the children dont have a dress code as strict as ours. we have some weird dress code rules like no open toe-ed shoes or open back shoes.... no denim even if it is professional. they would like us to wear suits everyday but most people seem to wear sweaters and khakis everyday.
yes to be a title one teacher you actually need more qualifications than a classroom teacher. i have the state certification for prek-grade three... and a reading endorsement (which just means you concentrated on reading in college and had the right amount of hours to qualify for the endorsement.) i get paid the same as a regular teacher but i dont have to manage the behavior so it is a lot easier. i taught 2nd grade for 3 yrs and then got to move to title because my principal liked me and saw that i can work with struggling learners without getting as frustrated as most people.
