How do you/would you handle the following situations
1. being introduced like this " This is my friend ____ and her adopted kids.
2. Just wait till you have your own...your really gonna love that one
3. So which one of you have the problem...you or the hubby?
4. Oh...so they arent yours
5. So how much $ do you get
6. So where is the real mom
These are situations I face all the time and it really urks me. I had one person tell me that I lost "cool" points because he thought I went thru the whole experience and he thought I lookd good for having 3 back to back...lol...a mess.

What? Are you joking? People actually SAY that stuff? How about this. You gained cool points for adopting children that need and deserve and amazing life, like the one I'm sure you'll be providing them.

Mine look and act just like us too...lol and they are not related...my daughter is a mini me for sure...HA!

5. So how much $ do you get... Do you get money for your kids?? I sure don't... I have to pay for their clothes, food, shelter, extra curricular activities and tuition... how much do you get paid for being a parent?
6. So where is the real mom... Am I invisible?? Can you not see me? I am the mother.. there is no "real mom".. there are biological mothers, foster moms, and adoptive moms.. where is your child's real mom?

I understand how you feel.. my oldest dd is adopted from China and my youngest is biological.. It is aggravating to explain myself all the time.. My issue is being asked " why China when there are so many needy kids here".. THAT is very annoying.
Just smile and let it ride..it is nobody else's business how any one builds their family. As long as your family is happy that is what matters!
