I have to "disagree" sorry!!  It is a home and they have to feel it is their home too.  BUT, they must respect you as a parent that works hard to give them that :)

My DD's room is her room. But I understand the statement. So for me it's maybe a 60/40 thing.

My children have rooms, and I tell them it is their room, that it is my rules since I pay for the house.

Oh my daughter does have her own room.

It's in  MY house. Which is why it no longer has a door. Because you can't slam YOUR door in my house.  You were warned. I thought taking it away for a month when you were 15 taught you that. I see it didn't

So now your room has no door.  You get it back in September of this year.

Too bad you will be away at college when that time comes. Oh well, you will enjoy it when you come home on break.
