Today as I reached back to give my son a little wagon wheel snack because he was fussy I thought back to a time before I had my first son... I remembered saying I would NOT allow my kids to eat in my car because I didn't want a mess! HAHAHAHAHA.... over 5 years later and many a snack has been munched in my vehicles :) i still hate the mess but whatever! sometimes they just need a snack to keep 'em happy and keep me sane :)

so what are some things that you swore you would never do as a parent but totally tossed out the window once you actually became a mommy?

I always said I would never use the phrases "because I said so" or "because I'm the mom, that's why!"   I've caught myself saying both!

The dreaded pacifier.  I swore up and down I would never give my kids one...I didn't want to create an oral fixation, screw up their teeth, and many other reasons.  When DD was in the hosp. when she was born she cried so much the nurses begged me to let her have one and it killed me to see her so upset so I caved.  She's six months old now and still a binky head, but luckily she only wants it when she is sleeping, she doesn't care about it when she is playing which is a good compromise for me.

 Oh, geez...let's see...

My kids were NEVER going to watch TV (ha!)

I was NEVER going to yell at them (yet, sometimes, as you're dashing across the room to catch them doing something stupid, it's the best preventative measure you can take, lol)

My kids would NEVER be those kids acting up in public and not listening (yeah, I was naive...they do pretty well, but for Pete's sake...they're kids!)

And I'm sure I had so many more...what's that saying?  I was the perfect mother until I had kids?  LOL!
