For those of you who has followed my other post about my son being the only white kid in his daycare....I started working today for the first time in about 6 months (previously worked a whole 30 days and before that I was off for 14 months w/ DS)...
I enjoyed my day very much. I was DEFINATELY missing my nap though but overall it was fun and enjoyable. I obviously still have a lot of learn but otherwise it couldn't have been better (well maybe yeah it could. I was supposed to get off at 6p and got out at 740p).
So my son did VERY well in daycare from what I understood. He was a very good boy and all the kids accepted him with open arms. They even came up this morning when I dropped him off and gave ME hugs!! I did however, get a pretty bad scare tonight!!!! I told them I'd usually pick him up at LATEST a little after 7p on Friday....I didn't get there until 8!!! I got to the daycare and ALL the lights were off and no one there! I FREAKED OUT big time. I finally ran over to the store next to it and they told me they move the kids to the building across the street at 6p. I didn't know this but thankfully that's where my DS was. I was about to call 911. I found out also they are opened 24/7....how awesome is that?!?! I thought I was keeping someone from going home because my kid was left there so late. Actually there were about a dozen children there and 2 of them leave at 10p!
Anyways...the race OBVIOUSLY as I predicted was NOT an issue. I did chuckle however, when the teacher saw me coming to get DS (she's NEVER met me EVER) and I heard her while I was still walking up "Jayden, your mommy is here!" lol I thought it was funny because it was very obvious I was his mommy since he's the only white kid LMAO. I love it! ALL the kids swarmmed me again telling me how much they loved my son and how happy and "giggly" he was. So everything went SOO SOOO well, better than expected (other than getting off so late). I do wish I had a little more time with DS before he went to bed, but there will be other days!!!

yep I AGREE!!! I've had ppl express concern for the issue. I wasn't the least bit concerned but turned to the opinions of CMers lol to make sure I was under-reacting.
I'm super accepting and try not to be judgemental and the race thing was very much NOT an issue for me....just for the record lol.
