I was raised by a working mom and a SAH dad.   i didnt know that was weird until i went to school.  mostly the kids were nice about it.   but i was always taught there was no difference in power in a family between a man and a woman.  between the working spouse and the SAH -- that both their feelings and opinions mattered equally....  so there is another post where the mom said -- that her husband woudnt "let" her stop breastfeeding....   that isnt the point.. i am just confused about it because it is such a strange idea to me... letting a man run your life and control what you do with your own body!   so here is my ?'s

Would you give a man control over every aspect of your life?  would you just let him make decisions about your body and your health?  if no --- why do you think some GF's and wives do this --

is their self confidence so low that they think they arent capable of making good choices...   are they brainwashed into thinking men need to be in control of a family to make it work... where does this mindset come from??

Regardless of the situation I wouldnt allow my husband to make decisions for me. We both always speak about our issues, and we consider eachothers feelings but we make our own decisions. Thats what works for us

In the BF thing, I can kinda see that one. It is her husbands baby too and he has a right to discuss with her what is best for their child.
Anything to do with our kids, my husband has a say in, even during my pregnancy and BF time.

yes both people need to "have a say" in issues --- that effect the kids.  effect your life... but why do some women think men should have the final say in all the family decisions???   how could a penis make you more qualified to make choices....
