I just got my first gym membership.... anyone have tips on a good "routine" or what I should start on on whatever? I hardly know where to start with all those machines lol
I "try" to go mon-friday. This is kind of sad, but they have free child care at the gym I go to, so for me its like a break from my 2yr old daughter and I love it lol. I do weights for about 5-10min right when I get there - I like the leg machines and am just starting to do the weights for arms where you pull the weights (not sure what its called), then I do the stair climber for 8min (that is a killer) and the elliptical/treadmill/or bike for 30min. I have one of the biggest loser books my mom gave me and I try to follow some of what it said. Start small. Like 5min weights, 15-20min cardio, and add a minute to your work out every day. Also look into classes the gym offers. Those are usually fun and having other people doing it with you gives you more motivation (or at least thats how it works for me)
hahaha I know that's one of the reasons I was so excited about it, taking my son there and getting to work out by myself lol. My first day I ran a mile on the tredmile and then I rode the little bike thing for 30 minutes. I'm kind of scared of the weight machines lol.
