we were going to go to this family/bar ... but there is a rumor that it's going to be like any bar on Sat. night and I wont take my almost 3 year old to something like that.

I made that last year.  It was sooo good!  This year, DH isn't going to be around for dinner and the kids prefer corned beef.  Oh well.  Next year back to lamb. :)  We're also having some Irish cheeses.  And we don't have a drop of Irish blood in us, lol!

Umm...we already had your st patrick day dinner on sunday. Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrotts. oh yeah it was great. Why did we have it early...because st aptricks day fell right in the middle of the week and to get everyone avalible for a big dinner feed it had to be done on the weekend.

It is very good.  Loving it.   And it was so easy to make.  I fixed it yesterday to let all the flavors blend together.

i would LOVE to make cornbeef and cabbage but i would be eating alone :(

Yeah I guess that's more traditional, but I'm a vegetarian so we do it a little different.   When we are home we go to dh's grand parents and they have that with potato's and cabbage for me : )
