I just called the CPS, for the third time.. **Small UPDATE** PICS added
Yep, the THIRD time on the SAME WOMAN.
I'm not one to call CPS on just anybody. But there is a little girl in our subdivision that just turned 3 and she wanders around.. by herself.. A LOT.
The first time I reported it was a while back, and it stopped for a while. Then I had to report it again in January.
So, I'm sitting here today.. watching 16&Pregnant, my girls are playing WII, and I'm at the kitchen table looking out the window. I see the little girl on our hill.. which leads to a CREEK! (ETA: She was on the EDGE of the side of the hill.)
I RAN out there, grabbed her, and started walking her down the hill. Her brother came up to me (he's 5 or 6) and said he would take her back home, which he said was three doors down. I said okay, handed her over, and watched them walk towards their home.
Literally FIVE minutes later, I looked out the window and she was about halfway up the hill, by the dumpster, laying IN THE MUD!!!
I was furious. I picked her up, and asked some guy that was checking his mail where she lived. He showed me. He told me she was 3 and her brother was supposed to be watching her. He proceeded to swat her on the butt with his mail and say "Peyton, you should be ashamed of yourself".
WHAT?!?!
SHE IS THREE!
I said "She needs a mother that will WATCH HER!!"
I knocked on the door where she lived and the dad SCREAMS at someone or something, runs outside and shuts the door. Their house is disgusting inside, by the way. He gives her brother (who was walking behind me) the worst look ever.. just stands there as I am holding his 3 year old.. and yells at the boy, telling him how he is getting his ass beat.
Again, WHAT?!
ETA: He was talking to me like I was a buddy.. he was not MAD at me he was MAD at the kids for getting caught wandering around. I did not "GET IN HIS FACE" I told him it was RIDICULOUS and she needed to be WATCHED.
I'm on hold with the Child Abuse Hotline now. I'm glad I'm not a kid calling to report my parents, I already would've hung up.. it's been 3 minutes.
This will make my THIRD report.. they need to do something, NOW! I wish I would've taken pictures of her.. Stupid me.
Some of you ladies are RIDICULOUS yourselves.. saying I should have minded my own business, that I should have called 911 instead of saving her from falling into the creek? There was no TIME for 911 the first time I got her. The second time, MAYBE.. but I wasn't willing to take the chance. The ONLY thing I did wrong was.. I should have called 911 after I made sure she was out of the mud/glass area. That is the ONLY thing I did wrong.
Small update: I got a call from the CPS worker at noon today. She said, "Is there anything else you'd like to tell me about this incident or about the family?" I explained the story, all over again, and asked if the kids were okay. They haven't even checked on them yet!! I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I calmly explained how SERIOUS I felt the situation was, how I've called THREE times and I'm pretty sure others have as well, and how the little girl could be DEAD if I wasn't randomly staring out my window at the time she was by the creek. The lady said thank you, she was very nice, and I realize they can't save the world before bedtime... but last time they at least checked on them that night. I advised the lady that if it were me, I'd wait until 4:00pm-ish to check on them because that's when I always see them outside. She said that was a good idea, thanked me for my time, and we said bye. She called back and asked what school the older boy went to, and where she could find them wandering at the time I specified. I told her if she wanted, I'd meet her outside and show her. She said she'd call me if she needed anything else, and reassured me that calling 911 would not have done anything but tie up emergency lines (I was telling her how stupid I was for not calling 911/the police). She also said that the police would have just called them, which is what I did, so I essentially cut out the middle man. I told her next time I'd call 911 regardless.
These aren't the best pictures, but I just wanted to give everyone an idea of where it was. I'm copying them from FB so I can't make them smaller. Sorry.
Some of these pictures won't show up. This is me standing where I found her, and looking at my apartment. The window I was sitting at is the top right.

This is where I found her the second time. I'm standing almost in the spot she was in. She was laying in the mud, surrounded by glass pieces, with only her head sticking above it. She had mud all over her when I picked her up, even in her hair.

This is a picture of the glass on the road by where I found her the second time. Where she was is covered in glass as well but it's so dark on the mud you can't see it.

I can't get the other pictures to show up, no clue why.. but I have them on my FB I think if you click the link you can see the album. I didn't get really good pics because I had my 3 year old with me, on my hip, trying not to fall in the mud. :)

You report that shit as many times as you need to! It's a good thing that you got her away from the creek. 5 year olds have no business watching toddlers outside. My SIL pulls this same shit with her 5 year old and 2 year old.
OMG, I'm glad you called. Hope something is done. The little girl could end up in that creek and drowned.
I was going to say..You should have called the cops.

I know I should have called 911, but I was in shock. I feel stupid now. I'm watching outside every day now and the first time I see her out there AT ALL, I'm calling 911.

If you think they are being abused right now, you need to call the police, not CPS! GL!
