Ok we are in Korea. I am pregnant with our 2nd child. I am due between June 30th and July 22nd (date of my last period and what the baby is measuring on the ultrasound dont match). I am trying to decide whether to go back to the states to have this baby or just stay. It is not gauranteed we will have the baby on the military base and its actually more likely I will end up at a Korean hospital. My gut instinct says go back to the states (a total of about 4-5 months). However I think to myself, what if my husband cant be there for the birth, me and husband are trying to recover from a really bad patch in our marriage, uprooting my daughter again.. taking her from her dad then 5 months later uprooting her from my entire family again, the burdain of staying with family and not having a vehicle (most of my family is more then willing but I still feel bad), and financially we have plenty of money in our savings but I think of what else that could go towards and what if something were to ever happen and we really needed that money.
This decision really shouldnt be this hard but I am a person that worries alot. I really dont know what to do. My husband says he is fine with it bc of the medical thing but doesnt want to be away from us and doesnt want to miss the birth. This is all on me and it sucks. What would you do?
what's wrong with having the baby in a korean hospital? it would still be an american citizen (if you're there for government purposes) and most likely you can score a korean doctor that speaks english (i'm pretty sure they are required to speak english being so close to military bases)..why can't you have it at a MTF?
Same.

Personally I would want to have my baby in the US, that's just me though. Good luck with what ever you decide.
No the doctor does not have to speak english but from what my ob said someone will come that can translate. However I have heard alot of bad stories and the doctors may not let my husband in the room bc traditionally here husbands arent allowed in, they may not respect certain wishes and they are really big on c-sections here and they put sandbags on you r stomach I guess to help heal. The reason we may not have it at a military post is bc first off not knowing the for sure due date so the military post may not even take me, they do not have nicu's on post. there are several reasons. My ob even said it would probably be best if I went to back to the states.
