Bored-- just wondering what ya'll would do in this incredibly hypothetical situation.
You are up somewhere looking down on a railroad track that splits in two. There are 5 people working on one of the tracks that the train can go down and there's 1 person working on the other. The train is currently going to go down the track with the 5 people and kill them all. There's a lever up where you are, you can pull it to make the train switch and kill the 1 person instead of the 5. These people cant hear you from how high up you are. What do you do? Let the train kill those 5 people or pull the lever so it only kills the one?
Aw man, that's a toughie! I think I'd pull the lever, though.
hahaha I know it's pretty fucked up. I think I would pull the lever.
None. I would think someone could get to an emergency lever. Also that's why you have walkie talkies to keep in touch with the conductor. If not you can always contact the station since everything now is on computers it can be shut down.
I would run towards the tracks screaming for everyone to get the f&#$ off the tracks!!
I don't think I'd pull the lever. I would rather be guilty of not saving 5 people than be guilty of intentionally killing 1 person. Kwim??
i said let it hit the 5 people. because 1. if it was already going that way, I am not about to change fate. 2. I am not smart enough to realize that a lever really far away will change the course of a train. lol......I would just probably freak out and try to run towards the people screaming the whole way. this is the silliest question I've ever heard lol.
