i was sleeping in the bed all comfy and warm. and then i think, "hm i wonder if jade is still asleep. i guess i should wake up." i get up expecting to see her destroying the house. nothing. i go in the bathroom. nope. i look in her room and i cant find her. i check the closer. nope. i look in the kitchen. nope. the front door isnt locked.... oh god....

i ran into her room and called her name. you know what? she was sleeping burrowed in her blankets so i couldnt see her. we just got her bed two days ago and she's already sleeping in it through the night.

and now im bummed that i woke her up bc i couldve gotten another hour of sleep. >.<

I can imagine those moments of terror.  I'm glad she was in her bed.  Use your extra hour to hold her and appreciate her!   (and give your heart a chance to slow down!)

Awwww...yeah, but I would've done the same thing if I didn't see DS anywhere!  Glad she's ok.  Sorry you're up too early.

the thing is, her room has two huge windows (that are locked at all times) and faces the sun. so really early in the morning, she gets a room full of light, regardless if its cloudy or what have you. and she cant hardly take a nap without all the curtains in the living room closed so i figured as soon as its light, she'd wake up and come into my bedroom.

i am extremely glad that she's safe. i wouldnt know where to start if she walked out of the house. we've taught her to NOT touch the door but she's a toddler. the police would probably charge me with neglect for not being aware she left the house.
