EDIT: Question for people who DO use family cloth
I'm afraid to ask in this group LOL, but figured it gets more hits than any other group I'm in.
Anyway, I'm finally getting the custom done for our family cloth, but I don't know how many to get!
Just some info, we are a family of 3 potty-goers (will be 4 in about 6 months when YDD potty learns). It's only me, ODD, and DH who will be using the cloth, we will keep toilet paper for guests. DH works like 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week, so he won't use a whole lot.
Anyone have an estimate if I only want to wash once a week with my diaper load? I thought 50, but then that sounded like not enough....

I don't know what this is??? Cloth toilet paper?? Here's a bump, b/c I'm clueless.
Like Cloth TP? IDK. I mean I could see using it when we pee, but not when we poo. Thats just me though. I do CD and love it, but I just couldnt see that. But you have given me something to think about.
I'm assuming you mean having cloth TP. It depends on the size of your cloths. I use 2-3 squares when it's liquids and 8-10 squares when it's solids (if you kwim, haha). When aunt flo is visiting it's usually the same amount as solids. It really depends on the size and thickness of your squares...
Can I ask....is this an environmental thing???? What is the point of cloth tp?
Can I ask a question that may be very TMI? About #2 and Cloth TP.

I don't know about others, but for us, I'm just looking to cut costs in any area that is not necessary. We have recently become debt free just from being frugal with shopping, and now I'm just inspired to cut costs more and save our money to remain debt free.
I just figure, I already do cloth diapers, what's the big deal in family cloth. I just dump it in with the diapers!
I did some research, and the average family of 4 spends $150-200 per year on TP...to me, that's a cost that's pointless. That could pay for so much more than to be literally flushed down the toilet. But, that's me, I don't want to debate "I do cloth, I'm better" I don't think that at all. I'm willing to wash it, I can get fabric to match my decor, and I already deal with cloth diapers, not much different to deal with this, I don't even have to touch them when I put them in the wash, just dump them in.
We're also doing un-paper towels, wool dryer balls, and I'm going to be making my own cleaners/soaps/detergents. May sound crazy, but I find it fun!
