After reading the post about the mom who feels so bad about smoking while pg, give some advice on how you quit smoking. I just quit cold turkey when I was pregnant. None of my friends quit though and they have healthy kids..... I just couldn't do it.
I was off and on. I stopped shortly after I got married because my husband wasnt a smoker and he thinks its gross. Then I found out I was pregnant... I had a few throughout my pregnancy. I started up again when my husband left last May. I quit for a month when I got sick in October. I started again in november. I quit again in December when my husband came home for a couple weeks. I started again after he left, for a few weeks... then I just stopped. I had a craving for one last night because I was drinking,... so I took a drag, and it was horrible. Glad I quit, and I dont plan on starting again.
I smoked with my first three and used alot of the excuses I heard on the other post but this time i was 44 having a surprise child. all I could think about was how do I make it to 90 so she'll hopefully not need her mommy as much. If I died from smoking when she was a child OMG...just the thought made me feel ill. What if after such a blessing, she was a total surprise, and I hurt her. I was older and I like to think wiser or maybe just feeling and knowing that bad things do happens. I was 24 and already had 3 sons at that age you don't believe bad things really happen at 44 you know they do. I just quit. I tried the cutting back but I was still all stressed over what was going through my head the guilt etc so one day it just dawned on me the only way to relieve that stress was to stop. So I did. After 30 years and never believing i would . So that is my banner if I could anyone can I aint special
I quite smoking while I was pregnant twice. With my first pregnancy I quite cold turkey 2 days after I got the positive pregnancy test. After his birth I started smoking again. When I found out I was pregnant with my second it took me a few months. I got myself down to four cigarettes a day then I just picked a day to quite. When that day came I got up and threw everything away in a dumpster a few blocks from my house. Ash trays, lighters and cigarettes. Worked for me and I haven't smoked for well over three years now.
