SO.. I completely embarassed myself at a friends wedding last night!!!
We got to the reception, and it was open seating.. We sat with a bunch of close friends.
I went to sit on the edge of a chair, and guess what happened?
In the reception, in front of about 100 people, I fell and broke the chair. I sat there for a minute just red as a fire truck, then DF helped me up. Everyone was asking if I was okay, blah blah blah.. My back was freaking KILLING me because of how I fell, but I'm fine now.
The bride was FUMING. She was already pissed off that the reception place was late setting up and having issues with everything else.. This to top it off was just the icing on the cake.. I told her I probably just sat on the chair wrong, and she said "No, it was the chair. It was this PLACE." I felt so bad for her :(
But on a good note, I made it through the ceremony and reception without getting sick. I just had this fear I was gonna get sick during the ceremony and not be able to get out fast enough LOL.
ETA: I'm okay now, and my back still hurts, but not bad enough that I can't deal with it :)

oh man I hate when stuff like that happens....I fell down the steps at a conference for work in front of what seemed like a million people. I think it would be better if everyone just pretended they didn't see it, rather than rushing to your aid lol. I hope your back feels better soon:)

lmao!!! i was so glad there was only maybe 10 people there that i ever have to see again! the brides mom all night everytime i stood up kept coming over and telling me to be careful.. i was mad she kept rubbing it in! i wish everyone could have ignored it..
its better when they arent people you see every day.. i can imagine the work situation having to see them every day after you fell down the steps in front of them.. ugh! that would suck..

Awww that's horrible and I would totally have blamed it on the chair lol. Easy out.
LOL.. I know it was the way I sat on it.. I sat on the edge at an angle and leaned back.. So I blamed myself.. The bride swears they set out a bad chair because they were in a rush.. I still think it was just me and bad positioning.. and my fat ass couldnt have helped much *grin*

Sorry I know it shouldn't be funny. And I'm way bigger than you so I'm not making fun. But it reminds me of the movie Shallow Hal when she breaks the steel chair and he yells at the manager to get better chairs and he was like "It was solid steel". hahah I think it was worse that they got a metal chair for u after the plastic one broke..Sorry, I feel for you. Like I said I'm a big girl but it makes me giggle a little...is that bad of me?? Sorry though. Hope your back gets better.

lmao it's fine. if i was *that* worried about being made fun of, I obviously wouldn't have posted it on CM! I told a friend of mine.. "Have you ever seen those videos on youtube or the big guy sitting in the chair and breaking it? Yeah.. that was me!" I'm laughing now about it.. I just couldn't believe it at the time.. Thanks!
