 Hypothetical(ish)

You do NOT spank, once in a BLUE BLUE moon you might tap a hand. Your new SIL believes in spanking (fine for her) but you find out after she watched your kids, that she smacked/spanked/popped/slapped/whooped/hit them when they "acted up" Now you believe in time out in thier rooms... and she went against you and hit your child... what would you do?

she would be sat down for a very very serious conversation. one she would not like. if she failed to respect that, she would not be watching the kids agin

I would be upset....When I walk other kiddos I never spank them. I believe a good swat never hurt anyone but if the parent of the kiddos I am watching I would NEVER do that!

Just to add...If they were that bad and a time out didn't work then I would tell that parent that I couldn't watch their kids anymore and explain why!

NOT have that abuser alone with my child ever again!

I'd freak, its not for a SIL to discipline.

Auntie hitting is like grandma or grandpa hitting...it shouldn't happen.  That's not their place.   serious talk would have to happen and if it happened again then there wouldn't be a next time

I highly doubt she's an abuser...that's a bit too far

its one of those situations, SIl likes to EXAGGERATE, now my kids act up for me all the time, but when it comes to someone else, they RARELY act up, it depends what you consider acting up... we are talking a 3 yr old and a 2 yr old...
