Calling pets your "children"**OMG LET THIS DIE ALREADY!**
What's the deal with that? I'm surprised how many women on this site consider their pets at the same level as their children. Well let me ask you...has one of your children ever been allergic to another child? If your child had a life threatening allergy to one of your animals, would it be such a tough decision to get rid of the animal? if it was a choice between feeding your child and feeding your animals, would you seriously give it a second thought?
This is one of those things I just will never understand. Animals are animals. My children are much more important. My husband and I are much more important. It's not even a question.
*I MADE THIS POST BACK IN MARCH, PEOPLE. FIND SOMETHING NEW! AND YES I STILL THINK PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANIMALS.*

That's good

i love my pets, but my kids come first, if one of the dogs steps out of line (minus being antagonized by a child purposely) then i will adopt him/her out to another loving home without children, no pound or euthanasia

I do consider my pets my family too. I will do everything in my power to keep them as a part of my family but if it came right down to it of course my kids come first....
If I had to save my dog or my child...I would choose my child of course.
But I do treat my dog very well...and if needed I would pay thousands and thousands to keep him healthy and happy:)
I call my dogs my babies, but unlike you I mean it in a generous and kind loving way, not in anyway putting them on the level of a human beings.
I think you just take it too seriously.
I know the difference obviously but I call myself mama to the pets anyway.
LOL thats twice in one night people that I agree people take these things too seriously.

Although I often say my 3 year old dogs, are the perfect children, they never mature, and turn into teenagers.... its like having a brilliant furry 7 year old to play with for 12 years or so.
