My neighbor has 3 dogs that always run out the gate at anything. They can fit through the holes in the fence. They have a small hobby farm. Ok now to the story. A while back the neighbors where saying that the dogs where killing their chickens and rabbits. Well I guess it stopped they stopped talking about it. Well today I am going to leave and look and the dogs have a freaking baby pig, not really a baby, but like a "teen" pig, about 2 1/2-3 Ft tall, and are killing it, each has a side and they are pulling oppsite, ok ill stop describing there....I try to stop it, but yelling and the damn dogs come grawling at me, so i hot tail it in to my house, until they leave, and run to my car and leave. My concern is that we are also starting a small hobby farm on our property, we are fencing it in, but whats to say they wont dig under the fence and go after our animals? Or what happends if a small child wonders down in front of their property, or heck the child is walking with the parents, I strongly feel these dogs are dangerous, I told her once i told her about the baby pig, gee maybe you should chain them up...she didnt say anything. What should i do? What rights do I have if they come at me like that again, or if they get in my fence and are harming my animals?
You really can;t do anything if they are in their own yard, even if they bark or growl at you. She could say they are protecting her property. Now, if the come at you outside of their yard, then that is when you call animal control.
You should check with your local law enforcement but when we lived in a rural area we could of shot the dogs with no repercussions because it was attacking livestock. Also please don't ever try to stop a pack of dogs from a kill or eating that kill with no weapon. You could of been seriously injured.
We really dont have animal control.....if we do i have never heard of them, or seen them

In rural areas its usually the sheriffs office you call. Least it was where we lived.population 3000 LOL
They only thing I yelled was hey, stop that, and Jessica, (thats her name) I thought she was home her car was there, but she wasnt

Oh Im sorry you didn't plan on doing anything until the dogs are in your yard?
If the dogs are attacking a child or your pet call 911.
If on the other hand you have an issue on how the dogs are currently behaving on their own property - and are concerned, then video tape and call animal control
Quoting amb_josh:
So just stand there and video tape, if they are attacking a child, or in my yard attacking my animals?
Quoting FooLynRoo:
call animal control
take pictures
make a video
If you saw them killing a pig that big, ON YOUR PROPERTY... you should have called the sheriff's office... or the animal control office... or SOMEONE... and maybe taken pictures, so you have proof... the dogs need to be restrained PROPERLY, or put down. They are a hazzard to public safety, if they were on your property, killing a domestic animal.
I guess I just need you to be clear.
Are these dogs loose (outside the confines of this womans property)
This big that they tore up, was her pig?
