FF moms who are anti-BF. I have a question. NO BASHING, I PROMISE

Okay, I promise not to bash you. I am just super confused. I am going to BF my DD. I have known this my whole life. FF was never even a consideration for me. I watched my mom BF my little sister as a child and to me that is just how it is done (though I know others make different choices). I have a friend who asks me repeatedly if I am still planning on BF'ing (I PROMISE I AM GETTING TO THE QUESTION). She asks at least once a month since she found out I was pregnant and every time I tell her I am she tells me her friend didn't like it. This bothers me for two reasons.

A) This was never a monumentous decison for me. As I said this is just what I always knew I would do, like since I was FOUR!

B) She is obviously anti-BF and will not come out and say that and give me a reason for it.

So here is the question (ONCE AGAIN, I PROMISE NOT TO BASH): For you anti BF mom's. I understand personally choosing to FF over BFing (I am not yelling here. I am highlighting this for one specific poster in this conversation), but being anti-BF makes no sense to me at all. So why are you anti-BF?

I guess I shouldnt really answer this question but I will as more of a bump for you. I wanted to breast feed with all of my heart, when my son was born I tried and tried and tried but he was a preemie so he didnt latch on, i pumped and pumped and gave him the milk in a bottle but i never really got much out and by the time my son was able to latch on my milk had dried up. I think BFing is a beautiful thing and I wish I could have done it but it isnt guarenteed that you will be able to. Just because someone ff doesnt mean that they are anti bfing

I will bump you because I dont understand being against it either. I FF both my kids because I wanted to but I dont think there is anything wrong with BF,  it just wasnt for me.

I know BF is better so to me people who are against it cannot possibly have a good reason for it.

Its easier said than done. I hope you're able to BF! I really do! But some aren't.....

And I agree, I BF for a few weeks and I would NEVER bash someone for being able to do it longer unless their snotty. I just wasn't able to.

Oh, I know that. I am sorry you weren't able to momma. That sucks. I am pretty sure I will though. Being unable to BF is not that common of a problem and nobody in my family has had an issue with it.

I'm not anti bf but I wanted to say that I worked with a girl who was. She said she didn't feel comfortable having a baby suck on her breast...that it seems too sexual.

My mother inlaw didn't even bother trying with her second because with her first, her dr told her that she looked exhausted and told her to stop BFding and start FF. I get vibes from my mother inlaw all the time. Mostly because SHE wanted to feed my son, but he ate from me, so she couldn't unless she was babysitting. She said I should give others the chance to bond with the baby that way. But I was all about bfding and I wasn't going to change that just for her sake. She would also cringe every time I nursed and would mumble under her breath, but oh well.

It's all going to happen again in 13 weeks.

I'm not anti bf, I'm actually for it, but sadly i could not do it. and by could not i mean.....my son was a preemie also, like the PP, i pumped and pumped and pumped and all i got was maybe an ounce out of both breast together. i gave him what i could and than after a few weeks i dried up. so i had to FF. i don't know why some mothers are anti-bfing. it seems to me logical, and of course FREE!! but some cannot do it and they get so frustrated and mad they couldn't they actually bash others for succeeding in their Bfing adventure. hopefully i helped you.

I dont understand Anit-BF either hun. I would have loooooved to BF but I couldnt because of medications I was on and the only other meds I could use instead were shots that I had been on for the whole pregnancy and a year of TTC and my body was taking a toll from them so I had to go back to the pill form. So I had to FF.
