What, if anything, inspired your children's names?

I have 4 kids and at least part of their name was inspired by something. My oldest son, Jared Marshall is named for my DH before he was adopted and his name was changed to Mark. My daughter is Alexanra Gail, Gail is my grandmothers name. Brandon Christopher is no 3. He was named after Brandon Lee..I was obsessed with the movie the crow..lol. And Ethan Robert, I named him Ethan after Tom Cruise's charecter in mission impossable due to the fact I contracted E-coli at 22 weeks pg and it almost killed us both..but..we made it! :)..But I was just curious about everyone else.

Kael is sort of named after Kael'thas Sunstrider which is a character in WoW.

DD1 is named Sarah, I have always liked the name & it's hubs grandmothers name.

DD2 is Emily, honestly, it's the only name that hub & I could agree on.

My ds's name is Nathan Lawrence, named after dh's friend from hs who died named Nate and dh's dad

and dd name is Makenna Jolynn.. Makenna is a play on dh's name (Ken) and Jolynn is after both grandma's Josephine and Lynn.

I got Ayla's name from...Clan of the Cave Bear.  As most Ayla's are named after.  Her middle name Isobel I got from a Bjork song.  I liked the name already, but it was spelled a little different than usual.

DD's name is Abigail Marie. I loved the character on ER named Abby and the actress Abigail Breslin and love both names(Abigail,Abby). I did not really name her after the character/actress but I did love the names. Her middle name I just thought went well but then I remebered that it was my cousins middle name and then I knew that I wanted to use it. So kind of inspired but not really named after any one.

I am half irish half German.  I am a redhead and for other various reasons i favor my Irish side So my eldest Is Rian middle name Edward my first love I know I know i was young LOL

Next son Sean middle name Patrick named for grandmother patricia

Next son Kory middle name Eugene after his great-grand father

And baby girl Erin middle name Marie which is middle eldest girls name on German side of the family for generations except mine I am eldest but my mom named all her kids after famous peoples kids so in our generation my baby sister got Lisa  Marie for Lisa Marie Presely  LOL

 

So all Irish type names and middles picked for specfic people.
