I was talking to my friend and she told my yesterday she tried to drop of some McDonald's for her kids and the school told her no. They told her she could take her kids to McDonald's and then bring them back.
I was also told that some schools go through the kids sack lunches and take out anything that is unhealthy. To me I feel they should not have a right to tell anyone what your kids should or should not eat. They can't have parties any more and i can kind of understand but i still don't think it fair
If they brought it to school with them, they should be allowed to eat it. As well as, if the parents bring them something to eat (like your friend going to McDonalds) they should allow the kids to eat it. If the parents didn't think it was healthy enough for their kids they wouldn't have let them take it/bought it in the first place.
Well then on monday try to bring you kids some McDonalds and see what happens if you can then good for you but here in socal a lot of schools are not letting you bring fast foods
Quoting TheTaoOfKim:I don't believe that anyone would let a kid go hungry rather then have McDonalds. I don't really believe that's true at all.
mmm ok at first i was thinking that it is a good idea that if your gonna take your kids mcdonalds, pick them up and bring them for lunch.
but then the part about the school going thru sack lunches and taking shit, thats THIEFT and its bullshit. if that EVER happens to us i will be pressing charges!
I doubt they go thru kids lunches. I just don't believe they do that.
As for the rest... Blame that on the health department, the state. They have to follow certain guidlines. The parties, it's a shame so many have eliminated them. But kids in the U.S. are not overweight, they are HUGELY GROSSLY FAT! Not all of them, but far more now than 20 years ago. I saw a 12 year old girl today that is 4'8" tall and wears a 22W shirt. TWELVE YEARS OLD, wearing a shirt that my 16 year old AND I could wear, at the same time. Her mom was talking about it while standing in line at my register. She sounded PROUD of it. "Oh yes, she's so big now! She is now into a 22 woman's shirt".... The other cashier working outside with me looked up and his mouth just fell open.
My friend just told me they will feed your kid but charge you

Oh yea schools are getting ridiculous! My high school has replaced all snack machine food with "healthy treats"; they replaced all chips with baked chips or chex mix, and replaced all sodas with water. Also students are not allowed to wear flip-flops, all white shirts, all blue shirts, all red shirts, ripped pants, tank tops that straps are not the width of 3 fingers or larger...... Honestly it would be much easier if they just made uniforms for the students to wear! My freshman year of high school was the best, but since the change of principals in my sophomore year that school has become seriously boring and aggravating! So glad I graduated before the newest rules have been enforced.
Im all for teaching them healthy eating but when each week they are sending something home...papers...trinkets...on how to feed my child... I think they could take that money and go buy enough books so he could bring home a school book instead of some printout from a master copy... The day they go through his lunch box and tell me what I can and cannot put in there is the day I will go up to that schoolhouse and cuss some bitches out.
