Grooming is a must but nothing you can't take care of yourself.
training is a must
you keep asking if they are good with children, you need to understand any breed has the potential to be great with children or horrible with children.
You need to look at your life wihtout bias, and be honest about the time and dedication you have to training your dog.
With proper training and dilligence you can introduce a young dog of any breed successfully into your home. However if your children are under 3 or 4 i'd avoid toy breeds, out of the safety for the dog.
i agree ll dogs need training. I own some. but some breeds are typically better ith ildre then others'. It depends on their personiltiy much lke children but there is a grenerally this beed is goo orbad withkids low or hiho energy blahblah blah. And yes training is a mus an generally takes care of thigs but there are some cases where training will not work

You seem well educated on it. I'm sure you'll pick the right dog
