Ok guys, its not a drama question, but Ive seen a lot of posts in my birth month group about their little ones already eating finger foods, cherrios, gerber puffs, some kind of yogurt thingys.. Anyhow my question is when did your LO start eating finger foods? mine will be 7 months next week and he does great with his baby food, and has great cordination with picking things up. But is it ok to start with things like that? (first time mom and terrified ill do something wrong!)
How do you know when they are ready? What did you start with? Any advice would be greatly appeciated..
read the packageing on those things like the gerber puffs does it give a age to start giving them. i think DD was younger then 7 months when i started giving her those types of foods...also you can ask you pedi. and see what they say.
I started pretty late because he was EBF and wasn't interested in food at all. I guess we probably started puffs around 8 months maybe even 9? Crackers at about 11. And now at 15 months he eats apples, banannas, cereal, goldfish, etc. If you don't feel comfortable do not rush it, they don't need finger foods that young.
I nursed dd and she started "trying" cheerios about 6 mo old just to work on grasp with her fingers. She also liked the teething biscuits but i dont know what brand they are.
