ALL GIRLS PRIVATE SCHOOLS. Can you tell me about them??
The other school post inspired this one. I am wanting to send my DD to a private all girls school. I think she will get a much better education there. We live in Ohio. So if any of you have been in an all girls school, could please tell me what it was like. What is your opinion on an all girls or boys private school? I refuse to send her to ther same high school I went to. She is in public school right now for junior high, but I have a few more years to find her the right school. If you have been in one or have taught at one could tell what are the pros and cons. I really wanted to send her to St. Vincent/St. Mary which is the school that Lebron James graduated from here in akron ohio, but naturally there is long waiting list and the kids have to be choosen by the Cleveland Cathlolic Diocece.

did you like it? what did you not like about it. Do you think your education was better there?

i went to an all girl catholic HS in NJ, i know NOTHING about Ohio.
I sent my daughter to an all girls college and at first she really liked it, no boys to be bothered by and she didn't think the girls would have anything to fight over, well three months in things got ugly , girls can be very competative and somewhat caty over small things. Over all she liked it but she only stayes two semsters and then transfered. I hope this helped...
yes it did thank you!!

the adjustment from public to private was hard, but it wasnt bad.
figured its an all girl school, we had uniforms, but OMG it was like a competition, who had the shorter skirt, who looked best in their uniform.
god forbid we had our "brother" school come visit... if you had to pee, good luck, the bathrooms were mobbed with girls, doing make-up, hair, hiking their skirts higher.
the education part was better, but the cattiness was ridiculous.

Our daughter attends a very conservative Catholic prep school.... but it is co-ed. We have no gender specific schools in the area. I know that my husband would love to find an All Girl highschool for the future though, lol.
Regardless, good luck on your search.
