Didn't feminism give us the option of CHOICE?

So if all women have choices to go to work, stay home, work part time etc, why is the choice of submissive SAHM looked down upon? Why does my choice not to work and take pride in my home and family somehow set the feminist movement back? Isn't it about CHOICE?

I hope this doesn't cause drama (but I'm realistic to know it might lol) but this is something I have thought about a lot every time I read submissive wife posts and posts about working moms vs. SAHM's.

Yes it was about choice but many do not see it that way.

all of those "choices" you listed, including yours, are looked down upon by someone.  its not just submissive wives...it just depends on what post you are reading.

I think you are perfectly right... Women can do whatever they want and while everyone might not agree with other people's life choices, no one should be subject the cm bashing that some women get on here for doing something different. I could never be the "submissive" wife as some have described on here but if it is what works for your family then kudos to you. I am not a good cm drama momma. lol- I am pretty neutral to most things because it's not my life, so everyone can do whatever they want

Because what western society considers "feminism" isn't feminism at all, it's really "masculinism". True feminism would be to embrace our feminine attributes and roles and give them a higher value instead of demeaning them even more by embracing and giving more value to male attributes and roles.

Are you sure it is the taking pride part that bothers people?  I woud think it was the "submissive" part.

Well for me it's all tied together. Can a woman take pride in her family and NOT be submissive? OF COURSE. But for ME once I started becoming more submissive and was more sure of who I am as a person, I took more pride in my family. Gosh, I hope that makes sense. I have a head cold today and am all fuzzy.

I guess feminism is about being empowered; choosing to be submissive leaves another in power.  That is why, I think, a lot of women do not understand your choice.

That being said, it is your choice, your life, and your business.  So no argument from me.

Well said! Feminism as we know it says we should be more like men. Not only should we, but we have to be, get out there and work, anything Men can do, we can do better, etc . . . What was ever wrong with just being a female? idk. I don't want to be mannish.

A few of my friends are feminists so I can relate to what you are saying. They have always made it very clear that they don't believe a women should ever stay home and not work. I think we should all have the choice to do what we personally want.
