Should I just take them?

My sons are turning 3 april 3rd and on April 5th they will begin school b/c their early childhood intervention program cannot take them after 3 yrs old. So they will be in the special education classroom  with their therapists from then on. One of the options that all of the therapists and teacher and psychologist keep bringing up is that my kids can ride the bus, it will have the other kids in their class and have bus aids (b/c one of my twins and some of the other children are physically handicapped as well) The thing is we literally live 3 blocks away, why would they need to ride the bus? I am a sahm, I do babysit a little girl in the  mornings and take her to the other elementary school in town but I could still take them to school, It would be somewhat complicated only b/c Tanner cannot walk so I would have to carry him in, along with his baby brother and also hold onto Hunter and walk them all to class, it definatly would be a handful  but i can do it , i've done similar things before. The other thing is that the teachers/therapists and psychologist are incouraging me to take advantage of the bus b/c it would help them to socialize with the other children in their class more and to help them adjust but idk what to do, several people in my family are also incouraging me to do this but i just feel like i'm being lazy if i do use it... what do you guys think?

I think if you feel the bus is safe for your boys it would be a great way for them to be a bit more independant and gives you a little break from tending to them.

I would try it out. If you don't like it or prefer to take them yourself then you can always change your mine

I would try them on the bus. They might like it and it will be less hassle for you.I believe you when you say you could manage getting them to school, but why not give yourself a little break?Seems like you've got your hands full!

When my son went to head start he had to ride the bus. That was the policy. I was not to thrilled about it at first. I allways took my daughter to school in the morning before i went to work. so i thought it would be a waste of time but he actually liked riding the bus. It was a way getting them ready to interact with the other kids. as for you you have to do what you feel comfortable to do with your children.

having been on the handicapped bus as a kid, I'd only have them ride it if they arent aware of thier surroundings. I was a hyper kid, and they did nt know how to deal with me so I was in special ed with a girl who picked at herself and licked the blood off, also a boy who yanked my hair out and they didnt do anything for me becuase "he didnt know any better"

i love about 3 blocks away from the school, and i drive my kids. IDK it makes me feel lazy thinking about putting them on the bus. lol. PLUS i have no trust in the bus system. I have however considered it the past week or so though because i cannot seem to get the three kids and myself up and ready ontime. They are notoriously about 5 min late every day and that makes me feel like shit and even lazier than if i put them on the bus. LOL.

i would do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. My first  plan was to wait till they were in first and second grade, which will be next year.
