ok so i will have the mirena for two years in may. but neway yesterday i thought the string fell down(happens to me once in awhile) so i went to go put it back in but the wierd thing is i didnt feel the string. i didnt feel the string at all and am wondering does anyone else not feel the string after awhile? or should i be worried that it went up where it shouldnt lol?

The nurse told me that after a while they may curl up and not be very easily detected.  I have the paraguard, but it's the same deal.

thanks, im hoping thats the case:). but it sure the hell makes me wonder what had me in all kinds of pain when i was walking the store lol

Oh really?  Perhaps you should go get that checked.  I know sometimes they can get misplaced in there and cause pain in your uterus.

 You should probably see your doctor. We aren't doctors... birth control isn't something i'd leave to "chance" you know.

yea i know i  just hate going to the doctor unless im dying or something along those lines. im going to feel for the string again tonight and if they arent there im going to look up the info weather you should always be able to feel them or not

ive had my mirena for 2 1/2 years and I can still feel the string. It is curled up shorter then it was originally but I can still feel it if I want to. I would def. go get checked out, you shouldnt leave it up to chance. JMO though
