Isn't this BUYING YOUR GRADE?

the teachers in our schools are telling the students that if they bring them supplies, like dry erase markers, copy paper, etc., they will raise their grades. Call me old fashioned, but when i was in school, we had to EARN our grades by working and studying hard. Isnt' this the same as buying grades? And what happens to the less fortunate children who cannot afford to buy the teacher supplies?? i don't like this at all
