computer question kinda OT ADVICE PLEASE

So my college sent me an attatchment of some paperwork I need to get in, and it is a PUB file. I tried to open it with Microsoft Word Office, and all I get is YYYYYYYkKJHDYYYYYYYYY <<<something like that lol. Any one know how I can change the document so I can actually READ it? Sorry if this is dumb, I honestly don't know. TIA!

go to microsoft.com and download a publisher viewer. or a trial version of publisher http://us20.trymicrosoftoffice.com/product.aspx?family=publisher&culture=en-US

It's a publisher file... if you don't have Microsoft Publisher on your computer you can't read it...

go to openoffice.org and you can use that to open it!
