Ok, I know RF is the best but my DS is coming up on two soon. I'm thinking I'm going to turn him around after his second birthday. I'm waiting to find out his weight at his doctor's appointment but I was trying to find out where the middle ground was for turning your child around. I know some do it as soon as they hit 20 lbs. while others don't turn around until 4.

I need to double check the carseat requirements but I think he's a little short for his age. :/

If I could go back and do it again I would RF to the max. I FF my oldest at 15 months when he hit 20 lbs, my 2nd son was over 2 before he hit the 20lb mark and my 3rd I RF to 18 months and 25 lbs.

We had no choice but to turn ds around the day after he turned 1. He'd reached the RF weight limit for his car seat and we couldn't afford a new one.

But I did wait until his 12 month check up to verify his weight.

DS turned 2 on the 8th and he is still RF.  He went to the doctor last month and he weighed 26lbs.  I am waiting until he reaches the 35lb mark b/c thats the car seat weight for RF.  Oh & he is short so height requirement will probably not be reached first, lol.

My 30 lb, 3 foot, 3 year old is still rear facing and will be until he hits the limit of his seat!

Op, what seat do you have now for him?  I personally would keep him rear facing to the limit of the seat.  Knowing everything I do now about how much safer it is I would utilize the seat to the very last pound and/or inch.

I have three.  With my boys, they were one year and 20lbs (they're 7 & 5 now).  My daughter is 2, but not yet 20lbs so she's still rear facing.

Me too for my first two, I learned about it on here. With this baby I will ERF to the max.
