So I’ve been thinking and I really want to get my dad something for Mother’s Day. He raised my brother and I on his own and I think it would a lot to know to know that we acknowledge he filled the roles of mother and father.

I want to get him something different and unexpected, any ideas? Thanks guys!

Instead of flowers you can do bamboo plant. Other than that I have no clue. Good Luck

Does he like to bbq? You could get him a man's apron for the bbq....

He’s big into surfing, classic rock and vintage records.

i do the same.  my dad raised me as a single dad since i was almost 6.  i always give him a card on mothers day and usually a nice plant or I cook him something or give him a framed photo of his grandkids (and me sometimes lol).

Is he still a bachelor? What's his house look like? If he is and his house is kind of plain... you could use that as a theme to decorate his main living area for him. You could probably do it rather inexpensively if you needed to. :)

It's amazing how people don't hold themselves to the standards they set for others.
